Absurd Change To Global Health Guidelines Could Have A Drastic Impact

We are all aware of the dangerous spread of progressive ideology and its impact on American families.

But if you think the threat to conservative values is just an American problem, think again.

Leftist propaganda has reached all corners of the globe, and you won’t believe the latest international effect of their far-reaching agenda.

It’s no secret that agencies of the United Nations are becoming more liberally biased every year.  Each time they update their guidelines and classifications for member nations, traditional Christian values are further trampled.

And now, the World Health Organization (WHO) has released an updated version of its International Classification of Diseases, version ICD-11.

The coding of diseases in the ICD are meant to isolate the medical needs of international populations and determine what resources, financial or otherwise, need to be allocated toward those needs in order to keep the people of all nations physically and mentally healthy.

Medical providers, insurance companies, and others in the healthcare field take the International Classification of Diseases very seriously.  The system impacts treatments, insurance premiums, and allocation of humanitarian aid all over the world.

The WHO just submitted its new coding guidelines for member nations to review and one major change is taking place.

Transgenderism or gender confusion, referred to as “gender incongruence” in its report, was previously classified under ICD guidelines as a mental health issue.

Four out of ten transgender Americans have attempted suicide – nine times the rate as the rest of the population.  As in America, gender confusion all over the world is a major mental health crisis with depression and suicide rates exploding internationally.

Depression and suicide are obviously mental health concerns, including under the WHO’s current ICD guidelines.  But apparently recognizing the connection that transgenders face an increased risk for suicide – and thus need mental health assistance — has escaped the WHO’s comprehension.

From the WHO’s report on ICD-11:

Gender incongruence, meanwhile, has also been moved out of mental disorders in the ICD, into sexual health conditions. The rationale being that while evidence is now clear that it is not a mental disorder, and indeed classifying it in this can cause enormous stigma for people who are transgender, there remain significant health care needs that can best be met if the condition is coded under the ICD.

Their rationale appears to be that in classifying gender confusion as a disease, they will make the disease worse by stigmatizing those who suffer with this mental disorder.  And it appears that taking this stigma away on an international scale shows the left’s bullying influence over major world organizations.

They are instead now classifying it as a “sexual health condition” so that treatments related to the disorder can be paid for by member nations without saying it’s a “disease.”  This is likely to mean that transgenders can receive international healthcare funding to pay for their hormonal treatments and surgeries without it being classified as an actual medical issue that makes them feel discriminated against.

But here’s the kicker – you won’t believe what the WHO’s updated ICD-11 coding does include.

Classified diseases that have special guidelines for providing funding and other medical resources include, from the WHO’s report:  ND79.20:  A hairball in the stomach, QE31: Insufficient Social Welfare Support, QE41:  Problems associated with being in prison, QB90:  Contacting health services for ear piercing, and PD7Z: Being hit by spacecraft.

No, we’re not kidding.  Another new disease that is garnering international attention and included in the classification of diseases?  Gaming Disorder.  That means that an addiction to playing video games is considered an actual disease, but changing your gender by significantly altering your body is not.

Activist Mommy reported:

The only thing that has changed about gender dysmorphia is the public attitude towards it. It is still a mental illness, whether the WHO classifies it as such or not.

When a segment of the population that identifies as transgender is facing a crippling suicide crisis, one has to imagine there is more than simple social stigmas behind this clear mental health issue.  Why won’t the medical community actually try to help people instead of simply normalizing their illness?

The World Health Organization, UNICEF, and dozens of other agencies under the direction of the United Nations are working feverishly to normalize all sorts of immoral and dangerous behavior with newly-implemented policies.

Mommy Underground previously reported on the dangerous progressive policies of agencies of the United Nations, and the impact is frightening.

Abortion, sex trafficking, child prostitution, alternative lifestyles, sexual promiscuity and contraception for minors – these are all addressed in the reports of U.N. agencies.  But instead of working with their vast resources to stop these issues, they are fully supported and funded by the money of member nations.

And that means you and me, the American taxpayer, as the U.S. is a member nation of these U.N. agencies.

The World Health Organization states that “the objective of WHO is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Health, as defined in the WHO Constitution, is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

But in this case, the bullying tactics of the left have caused the WHO to remove a serious mental health disease from its classification system, and in the process, further normalize it on a global scale.

When they claim in their mission statement that they want to “attain a state of complete well-being” for the citizens of the world, they minimize the dangers of the mental health disease that is the underlying cause of transgenderism.

And in the process, their global guidelines force us all to pay for the demise of traditional values and the growth of a progressive culture for future generations.

What do you think of the WHO removing transgenderism as a mental health disease from its International Classification of Diseases?  Do you think it is an attempt to further normalize the disorder on a global scale?  Leave us your thoughts.
