Anti-gun liberals were quick to push their gun-control agenda onto teens, by throwing major money behind the “National Walkout Day.”
Not only did their gun protest backfire in a major way, it turns out the results were deadly.
One teen refused to participate in the walkout, not knowing his decision to protest the anti-gun rhetoric would end up costing him his life.
Teachers expected all their students to protest guns, but some students refused, including one 11-year-old boy from Texas.
This middle school child decided he wasn’t going to walk out with all his peers protesting guns, and went to a separate area.
And tragically, teachers were so focused on corralling students for the protest, they didn’t pay attention to this boy, who ended up being hit by a car and killed during the protest.
Fox News reported:
“Ysleta School District Superintendent Xavier De La Torre said Benko didn’t participate in the walkout, but was with an “isolated” group of students who left school as others protested, according to the El Paso Times.
The students were being questioned as to why they left school.
Students told the El Paso Times those participating in the protest were set to meet at the school’s football field. But several students decided to hop over a fence and head for the highway.
Classmates remembered Benko as a fun-loving student.
“He was a free spirit. He was fun to be around, always lighting up the room,” Angela Rodriguez, 14, told the El Paso Times. “He played the violin. He was very good. He was one of the best ones in the class.”
Because this 11-year-old was yanked out of class during a protest, it ended in his death.
Had he been inside his classroom learning, which is why he attends school in the first place, he wouldn’t have been in danger.
If he didn’t want to participate in the protest, he should have been allowed to stay in school, instead of being taken to an “alternate area”, where he clearly wasn’t supervised.
And as Mommy Underground previously reported, the National Walkout Day was pointless.
Gun groups continued to see increases in membership, and many students publicly admitted they didn’t even know what they were protesting.
Shame on liberals for yet again using children to do their dirty work.
It’s well known that lunatics kill innocent people, not guns.
Disarming good guys will not keep children safer.
If someone wants to commit murder, they will find a weapon, like the knife attack Mommy Underground reported earlier this year.
Teachers need to spend time teaching children, not using children as a mouthpiece to voice their own political bias.
Because of the National Walkout Day, one innocent 11-year-old lost his life, all because he refused to protest with the anti-gun crew.
