The rallying cry for gun control by the left has come to a fever pitch in recent weeks as their allies in the liberal media blame conservatives, and as students across the U.S. who are vulnerable to their propaganda plan protests and school walkouts.
Since the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida on February 14th, liberal media networks have aired a constant barrage of attacks against conservatives and the Second Amendment.
Now, another protest against gun violence is taking place in our nation’s capital – and while every American mourns the young lives lost, the hypocrisy behind these events to raise awareness for gun violence is astounding.
Newsweek reported:
Thousands of small shoes were placed on the ground in front of the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday morning, one pair for each of the estimated 7,000 children who have died from gun violence since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.
Called Monument for Our Kids, the demonstration is part of a far-reaching effort to pressure Congress to pass additional gun control legislation. The shoes, all worn, were donated by thousands of people across the country, organizers said.
The event was organized by the global organization, Avaaz, whose mission is to coordinate events to bolster progressive ideologies. Their mission statement reads, in part, they “organize citizens of all nations to close the gap between the world we have and the world most people everywhere want.”
This sentiment is typical of the left’s ideology – any idea that does not align with their opinions is wrong, and no one could possibly disagree with what they believe.
Not surprisingly, uber-liberal Hollywood celebrities like Bette Midler and Chelsea Handler helped spread the word about the event over social media. The event precedes this week’s National School Walkout Day, where many students plan to leave their classrooms for 17 minutes to protest gun violence, representing the 17 students killed in Florida, and the March for Our Lives later this month, backed by anti-gun leftist Michael Bloomberg and his Everytown for Gun Safety.
There is no question that all Americans from every walk of life want to see an end to the tragic loss of innocent lives. But here is where the hypocrisy comes in full-force. While the left has increased their vitriol in the last month by blaming guns for the deaths of children, thousands of innocent children have died from abortion in the weeks since the Parkland shooting.
In fact, the numbers are almost impossible to comprehend. Since the legalization of Roe v. Wade in 1973, 60.26 MILLION babies have been slaughtered in the name of inconvenience or “women’s rights” – and a staggering 1.5 BILLION worldwide since 1980, according to U.S. AbortionClock.org. That is one child murdered by abortion every second.
The loss of any child is a tragedy, but where is the left as we mourn and fight the murders of aborted children? They are fighting to preserve the right to do so. They continuously push to keep abortion legal, while at the same time rallying to strip law-abiding citizens of their Constitutional rights in a campaign of false and misleading information.
While the Monument For Our Kids display at the Capitol Building is sobering, one can only think of the enormity of a display that would include the shoes of children lost to abortion or other preventable deaths. The hypocrisy of the display – that some lives are more worthy of fighting for than others — is incomprehensible.

Organizer Emma Ruby-Sachs said she thinks it’s a pivotal moment for the movement to end gun violence. Her daughter is taking part in an active shooter drill at school on Wednesday, a necessity that she described as a “terrifying reality.”
“The culture on guns is shifting, and we can all feel it,” she said. “Students are walking out of their schools, survivors are marching in the streets and parents are here on the Capitol to honor the children we’ve lost and make a clear demand: Not one more gun death.”
In fact, the hashtag #Not one more #Enough is being used this month in events all across the country where liberals are placing blame on guns for the tragic deaths of our children. But where is the concern for the tens of millions of lives lost to the abortion industry that these very same people support?
And what of the other epidemics plaguing our children today? Obesity, drugs, and suicide rob us of thousands of innocent lives every year. The broken homes, alternate lifestyles, and lack of traditional values that the left stands for perpetuate the mental health issues and bullying that have often been the motive behind these mass shootings.
Their scare tactics disguised as concern for our children are not only hypocritical, they’re dangerous. These tragedies can all be prevented, but saving children only seems to matter to the left if they can lay blame on traditional values and spread liberal propaganda to further their agenda.
