Fake News Reporter Attacks The White House — And Is Immediately Shut Down

President Trump has recently cut back on daily televised press conferences over his disgust at the media and their fake news.

But earlier this week, a press briefing was held and there is a new sheriff in town.

Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders took the helm this week, and was immediately attacked by a so-called “journalist.”

But Sanders shut the reporter down, sending the message that the White House will not fall for bullying attacks by the media.

The Washington Times reports:

Deputy White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Mr. Trump has been frustrated by a “constant barrage of fake news,” citing an erroneous CNN report for which the network apologized and three journalists resigned. She then told everyone to watch a James O’Keefe video for Project Veritas that shows a CNN producer calling the Russia story “mostly bulls—t right now.”

She said new outlets “get to go on day after day, cite unnamed sources, use stories without sources.”

“I think we have gone to a place where if the media can’t be trusted to report the news, then that’s a dangerous place for America. And I think if that’s the place where certain outlets are going, particularly for the purpose of spiking ratings, and if that’s coming directly from the top, then I think that’s even more scary, and certainly more disgraceful.”

Sanders’ remarks led one of the reporters in the room to attack her and the White House for outing the liberal media and their fake news reporting.

“Journalist” Brian Karem — of the “esteemed” Playboy Magazine — went on the warpath against Sanders and the Trump press team.

The Times continues:

“Come on, you’re inflaming everybody right here, right now, with those words. This administration has done that as well. Why in the name of heaven — any one of us are replaceable, and any one of us, if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel or not read us.

You have been elected to serve for four years at least. There is no option other than that. We’re here to ask you questions. You’re here to provide the answers. And what you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and say, ‘See, once again, the president is right and everybody else out here is fake media.’ And everybody out here is only trying to do their job.”

Sanders did not fall prey to the attack, and shot back with the message that the fake news, Trump-trashing media will not be tolerated.

Sanders told Karem she “disagreed completely” with his comments, and went on to issue a sharp rebuke to all media outlets.

The Washington Times reports:

“I think if anything has been inflamed, it’s been the dishonesty that has taken place in the news media,” she said. “I think if anything has been inflamed, it’s the dishonesty that often takes place by the news media. And I think it is outrageous for you to accuse me of inflaming a story when I was simply trying to respond to his question.”

“If we make the slightest mistake, the slightest word is off, it’s an absolute tirade from a lot of people in this room. But news outlets get to go on day after day and cite unnamed sources, use stories without sources.”

President Trump issued a tweet earlier this month about the decrease in press briefings and the hypocrisy of the mainstream media.

And AOL News reported on support for the President’s reaction to fake news reporters in the media.

Former House speaker Newt Gingrich urged the president to end press briefings saying, “I am personally offended by the American news media. I think it is destructive and disgusting. It is a danger to the country right now.”

Gingrich said the move would “Just say to the American people, you get to choose.”
