Babies who have Down syndrome are being targeted at all angles, as some pro-aborts shamefully try to convince the world, babies who have Down syndrome shouldn’t even have the right to be born.
But this latest attack on babies (and mothers who choose to carry their babies) has hit a sickening new low.
And the callous words this pro-abort woman spoke, reveals just how much hatred and evil stirs in the heart of liberals who do not respect and value human life.
In a brutal editorial, this leftist woman actually proudly declared if she found out her baby had Down syndrome; she would absolutely kill her child, in a heartbeat.
The Washington Post reported:
“I have had two children; I was old enough, when I became pregnant, that it made sense to do the testing for Down syndrome.
Back then, it was amniocentesis, performed after 15 weeks; now, chorionic villus sampling can provide a conclusive determination as early as nine weeks.
I can say without hesitation that, tragic as it would have felt and ghastly as a second-trimester abortion would have been, I would have terminated those pregnancies had the testing come back positive. I would have grieved the loss and moved on.”
This kind of disregard for life is sickening and truly unthinkable.
How could a mother think it’s acceptable to kill her baby and boast she would do it even in the second-trimester, in her own words without hesitation.
But the columnist doesn’t stop there.
As if it isn’t bad enough she admitted to the world she would have no problem killing her child if it had Down syndrome, she then takes it one step further and continues to bash those parents who actually do keep their child.
She goes on to list all the ways children with Down syndrome would live awful lives if they were allowed the chance at life.
The Washington Post continued:
“But accepting that essential truth is different from compelling a woman to give birth to a child whose intellectual capacity will be impaired, whose life choices will be limited, whose health may be compromised.
Most children with Down syndrome have mild to moderate cognitive impairment, meaning an IQ between 55 and 70 (mild) or between 35 and 55 (moderate). T
his means limited capacity for independent living and financial security; Down syndrome is life-altering for the entire family.
I’m going to be blunt here: That was not the child I wanted. That was not the choice I would have made.
You can call me selfish, or worse, but I am in good company.
The evidence is clear that most women confronted with the same unhappy alternative would make the same decision.”
But she’s wrong.
So many beautiful people with Down syndrome are born and thrive at life.
Gerber got the memo, and in fact, the 2018 Gerber baby has Down syndrome and has won the hearts and love of the world.
So while leftist activists may boast in their desire to kill “without hesitation”, conservatives must have the louder voice and ensure babies with Down syndrome have the chance to be born.
Screening for the simple fact to murder a child is evil on full display.
We must do better.
Fighting for all babies will not only fall on the right side of history, it is our moral obligation.
