Social Media Giant’s Liberal Bias Is Becoming Dangerous

Over the last decade, it has become obvious that mainstream media outlets are blatant in their liberal bias.  Conservative viewpoints and issues are ignored, and the agenda of the liberal left is spread in a widespread attack of propaganda on American citizens.

Online social media sites have become the go-to for receiving quick updates on major news stories, but many citizens are aware of their obvious liberal slant in reporting.  Now, new information is coming to light that proves just how devious one social media outlet has become.

Former employees are breaking their silence about the complete shut-out faced by conservatives and the issues that are important to us – and you won’t believe how far-reaching the deception and bias extends.

The Daily Mail UK recently reported:

Facebook allowed the Obama campaign to access the personal data of users during the 2012 campaign because they supported the Democratic candidate according to a high ranking staffer.

Carol Davidsen, who worked as the media director at Obama for America and has spoken about this in the past, explained on Twitter that she and her team were able to ingest massive amounts of information from the social network after getting permission from Facebook users to access their list of friends. “Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing,” wrote Davidsen.

“They came to office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side,” she tweeted.

“I worked on all of the data integration projects at [Obama for America]. This was the only one that felt creepy, even though we played by the rules, and didn’t do anything I felt was ugly with the data,” stated Davidsen.

The revelations, if true, mean that Obama’s campaign…reportedly harvested private information from more than 50 million Facebook users.

Former President Obama was well-aware of how to use the power of social media to attract voters.  Early in his campaign for the presidency in 2008, Obama hired Facebook co-founder, Chris Hughes, to consult him.  Facebook remained a prominent platform for the former president and was a vital component of his re-election bid in 2012.

Davidsen reported that not only did Facebook do nothing to stop the mining of data of its users to benefit the Obama campaign, she says the company made a special exception for the project because they wanted Obama to be elected.

During this time, the Obama team may have garnered information on millions of Americans – with the complete approval of Facebook higher-ups.

In 2016, another former Facebook employee came forward to share her experiences with blatant blacklisting of conservative issues, explaining how Facebook workers are directed to suppress posts of interest to conservatives on the site.

Gizmodo.com reported in 2016 that:

Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential “trending” news section, according to a former journalist who worked on the project. This individual says that workers prevented stories about the right-wing…conservative topics from appearing in the highly-influential section, even though they were organically trending among the site’s users.

Several former Facebook “news curators,” as they were known internally, also told Gizmodo that they were instructed to artificially “inject” selected stories into the trending news module, even if they weren’t popular enough to warrant inclusion—or in some cases weren’t trending at all.

Although Facebook has come under fire for being liberally-biased in what it allowed in the past, these former employees are the nail in the coffin with the proof that Mark Zuckerberg and upper-level staff are purposely shunning conservatives and allowing data mining for the benefit of the liberal causes they support.

“Depending on who was on shift, things would be blacklisted or trending,” said the former curator. This individual asked to remain anonymous, citing fear of retribution from the company. The former curator is politically conservative, one of a very small handful of curators with such views on the trending team.

“I’d come on shift and I’d discover that CPAC or Mitt Romney or Glenn Beck or popular conservative topics wouldn’t be trending because either the curator didn’t recognize the news topic or it was like they had a bias against Ted Cruz.”

The former curator was so troubled by the omissions that they kept a running log of them at the time.  “I believe it had a chilling effect on conservative news,” the former curator said.

It doesn’t appear to matter to Facebook that they ignore issues of importance to its users in the name of spreading the liberal agenda — or that they are putting American citizens in danger.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been called to testify in Congress because of recent revelations like those from Davidsen.  Many conservatives have closed their Facebook accounts in recent years because of the overwhelmingly liberal content and, now, the company appears to be losing profits due to allegations over issues of data mining and disregard for their own “privacy standards.”

Mommy Underground previously reported on Facebook’s “community standards,” which allow them to present to the public a one-sided perspective – that of the liberal agenda.

It remains to be seen if anyone else comes forward with knowledge of Facebook allowing the personal data of Americans to be mined, but for now, Facebook users should be on heightened alert about how their information is handled – and how the social media giant controls what you see on their site.

What do you think of the allegations against Facebook that they have allowed data to be mined for their benefit, or that conservative issues are purposely blacklisted by its curators?  Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
