The Latest Victim Of The Liberal Agenda Is The Last You Would Expect

As the liberal agenda continues to spread unchecked through every aspect of our culture, we must remain ever vigilant to protect our families and pass on our Christian values.  The last bastion against these progressive influences has often been the church, where traditional families should be able to stand together and fight the destruction of our values and morals.

Sadly, many denominations in America have begun to bend to the indoctrination of the left, fearing that by continuing with thousands of years of Christian tradition, they will lose favor with liberally-biased groups who attempt to bully us all into submission.

Now, one Christian denomination has fallen prey to this bullying, putting the desires of the few against those of conservative Christians – giving in by putting their fears before their service to God.

Activist Mommy reported:

We have seen many leaders in a wide variety of denominations give in to the spirit of fear, terrified that if they don’t capitulate to the masses on issues like homosexuality, transgenderism, or feminism, they will be viewed as irrelevant, that they will not receive the applause of men.

Sadly, that trend continues as a recent decision was reached by the U.S. Episcopal Diocese regarding the use of masculine pronouns in reference to God.

The Episcopal Church’s Diocese of Washington, D.C. has passed a resolution to stop using male gender pronouns in reference to God.  The resolution was quickly passed, and changes will be implemented in its Book of Common Prayer.

This decision has nothing to do with the church’s duty to serve God.  By passing this resolution, they are showing that they care more about the acceptance of the left — fearful to accept persecution and looking to save face with the LGBT community and its allies like the mainstream media.

LifeSite News reported:

“If revision of the Book of Common Prayer is authorized, to utilize expansive language for God from the rich sources of feminine, masculine, and non-binary imagery for God found in Scripture and tradition and, when possible, to avoid the use of gendered pronouns for God,” the resolution stated.

“Over the centuries our language and our understanding of God has continued to change and adapt,” the drafters of the resolution stated. The drafters said that referring to God using masculine pronouns is to “limit our understanding of God.”

“By expanding our language for God, we will expand our image of God and the nature of God,” they stated.

The Diocese has taken it upon themselves to interpret Scripture to please progressives; in fact, they are changing the meaning of Scripture altogether, saying that Biblical manuscripts that have survived for thousands of years do not meet the gospel of “social acceptance” they want to preach to their congregants.

And one liberal church leader in Maryland, Clergy Delegate Reverend Linda R. Calkins, is urging her fellow delegates to further bend to the will of the liberal left.

One News Now reports:

“[If Episcopalians] are going to be true to what El Shaddai means, it means God with breasts,” Calkins told delegates.  “Having studied much feminist theology in my masters’ degrees, I wrote a thesis on liberation and freedom and non-equality in feminist theology and existential counseling.”

The liberal Episcopalian appears to use The Inclusive Bible as a reference – a loose interpretation of the Bible that many leftists use in order to turn Scripture upside-down and give it meaning that was never intended by God and the authors who He chose to write down His direct revelations.

Calkins is looking to give Episcopalians the last push they need to join the feminist movement and use LGBT lingo when addressing God.

“And I am still waiting for the Episcopal Church to come to the place where all people feel that they can speak God’s name,” the leftist church leader continued. “Many, many women that I have spoken with over my past almost 20 years in ordained ministry have felt that they could not be a part of any church because of the male image of God that is systemic and that is sustained throughout our liturgies. Many of us are waiting and need to hear God in our language, in our words and in our pronouns.”

Leadership of other Christian churches, however, point out the heresy of these comments, and the complete lack of Scripture to back up these beliefs.  Perhaps that is why this Episcopalian Diocese is making up their own version of the Bible.

One News Now continued:

Flying in the face of Calkins’ teaching, seminaries have taught that terms used referring to God the Father and God the Son are indisputably and intentionally masculine.

“Christians – following the teachings of Jesus Christ – have prayed to God as ‘Our Father’ from the very beginning,” LifeSiteNews’ Mark Hodges pointed out. “Theologians explain that the masculine word ‘Father’ indicates a relationship.”

Dr. Paul Tarazi of St. Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary contends that there is no room for creative interpretation when it comes to the gender reference of God. “Jesus did not call God ‘Imma’ (Mother), but always and exclusively ‘Abba’ (Father),” Tarazi impressed, according to the Orthodox Research Institute. “’Father’ is the only way Jesus ever referred to God, and the only way He taught His followers to do so.”

For centuries, theologians, have made it clear that deviating from the biblical titles reserved for God is inaccurate, misleading … and ultimately heretical.

Mommy Underground previously reported on the left’s push to eradicate gender pronouns in every facet of society, and by any means necessary, including bullying and sometimes violent protests.

Sadly, this particular church denomination is the latest to submit to the left.  We must pray for our churches to stand strong in our faith, and not fall prey to human weakness by giving in to the liberal agenda.

What do you think of the resolution passed by this Diocese, wiping out any reference to God as Father, and changing Scripture to suit their agenda?  Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
