This Woman Was Anti-Gun Until The Unthinkable Happened

Liberals have been taunting gun owners for decades, proudly wearing the “anti-gun” label and insisting those who carry guns are violent and hateful.

And as one Mississippi woman, Lori Shelton, reluctantly admitted, she was no different. Shelton was anti-gun to the core, until she came face-to-face with an intruder in her home.

Realizing her husband was at work, and her daughter was sound asleep, it suddenly occurred to her for the first time she was completely helpless and unable to protect herself and her sleeping daughter.

All she could do was call 911, and pray the intruder didn’t kill her.

Breitbart reports:

Shelton said, “I was getting ready for work doing my normal routine, and I heard a noise as I was getting out of the shower.” She looked to see the source of the noise and “saw a man coming through the back of the house.”  She said, “The first thing I thought was I gotta do something.” But she was limited on options: her daughter was in bed asleep, her husband was at work, and she did not have a gun.

Shelton checked again to see where the suspect was, saying, “I peeked through the blinds, the blinds stayed closed and peeked through and saw him looking at me. I mean we made complete eye contact. He proceeded to come through the back of the house, and I ran back and dialed 911.”

Shelton was one of the lucky ones.

She could have easily become another statistic and sad example of what happens when women refuse to carry a gun in order to defend themselves from bad people.

Even worse, the intruder could have also harmed her daughter.

Thankfully, this incident was enough to snap Shelton into reality.

Shelton made the decision to not only buy a gun, but she is getting her concealed carry permit and training her 15-year-old daughter how to shoot.

Breitbart reports:

Shelton is still uneasy; she says the suspect stole her “sense of security.” She now takes her daughter with her to the firearms training course, saying, “I’ve enjoyed it, I’m glad to know that I have a 15-year-old daughter and she knows the safety and the rules, and I feel pretty confident in her if she ever had to use a weapon for her defense.”

While liberals thrive on calling conservatives “trigger happy” and “violent” and seek to blame all shooting tragedies on guns, Shelton came face-to-face with the reality she was unarmed and vulnerable.

It shouldn’t take an actual robbery or break-in for liberals to understand the importance of owning a gun, but thankfully Shelton got the lesson before it was too late.

Many women like Shelton are choosing not only to own a gun, but are practicing at the range and ready to fire if needed.

Guns shouldn’t be something parents teach their children are “violent and bad.”

Precautions should obviously be taken with small children, and gun safety should be taught, but guns really do save lives.

Do you agree with Shelton’s decision to purchase a gun? Do you think women should train their teens how to shoot?
