Leftist college students are offended by everything.
Once Trump became President, “safe spaces” were set up on college campuses for college students to cry, color, and “safely” mourn the fact Hillary didn’t win.
But the latest thing that caused massive backlash on this college campus was so outrageous it proves just how far leftist college students have fallen.
Breitbart reported:
“Anna Wibbelman, former president of Building a Better Michigan, stated at a student government meeting that “minority students felt marginalized by quiet, imposing masculine paneling” of several academic buildings around campus…
Although the building is set to undergo a pricey $85.2 million renovation, the wood paneling is here to stay, to the dismay of minority students who finds it presence to be “intimidating.”
College students offended by wood paneling on a building?
There was nothing offensive written, no racial slur, yet the architectural design of a building has suddenly become offensive.
Faculty administrators were at a loss for words over the sudden outrage.
In fact, a campus spokesman stated this was the first time the University of Michigan heard about the concern over wooden paneling.
While the UMich had already planned to give the building a new look, removing the traditional wood paneling wasn’t in the plans.
The College Fix reported:
“Asked to weigh in on Wibbelman’s comments, campus spokesman Rick Fitzgerald stated in an email to The College Fix that “concern about the paneling is not something that has been brought forward to the university as a concern from students, who have been involved with developing this project for several years and through dozens of meetings. Students certainly have expressed a desire that the renovation assures a welcoming, inviting, and student-oriented building. It is their building.”
“There is a significant presence of wood paneling on the interior of the building and we expect most, if not all of it, will remain after the renovation,” he said”
College students have really fallen off the wagon.
Shouting “I’m offended” is really getting out of hand.
Sadly, it appears being a “victim” is the new trend.
In today’s world, college students find everything offensive, from traditional statues, speakers, even college courses offered.
It’s important to raise children to take responsibility for how they feel and not expect the world to cater to their every emotion.
By raising children to be offended by everything actually does them a great disservice. They’ll adopt a victim mentality, thinking the world owes them something for their self-inflicted “suffering”.
It’s crucial to remind our children the world doesn’t owe them anything, and in fact it’s up to them to do something to make the world a better place.
Teaching children to be assertive and stand up for justice is one thing, but it’s important to teach them discernment when choosing their battles.
With liberals hijacking educational systems, it’s important now more than ever to train-up children with traditional values to enable them to survive on college campuses against the inundation of “space spaces” many college students seem to live in.
Children must be taught to find solutions and take on the world with knowledge, not graduate from college wearing the mask of entitlement.
If children don’t learn at a young age the world doesn’t owe them a thing, it all but guarantees their failure in the real world once they step outside the imagined “safety” of college campuses.
