Building Blocks
Blocks are one of the simplest and oldest of toys, yet they provide the learning tools needed to excel in so many areas.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) reports on the vast array of skills children obtain from blocks such as problem-solving, socialization, self-expression, continuity and prominence.
Mathematics is also strengthened with blocks, according to NAEYC, by letting children practice size, measurement, symmetry, and comparison.
