Save Your Child’s Life By Preventing These Known Childhood Killers

  1. Fire Proof Your Home:

Teach your child at a young age not to play with fire, and do what you can to make sure your home is “fireproof” for your child.

The Red Cross reported some startling statistics – children under 5 are twice as likely to die in a fire than the rest of the population, and two out of every three child induced fires are because a child was playing with matches or a lighter.

Moms, we know you like your candles (although essential oils are better for you anyways, but that’s a different topic), but be sure to keep lit candles out of the reach of children.

And for goodness sake, don’t have matches or lighters anywhere a curious child could reach them.

It should go without saying, but make sure to have smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms installed throughout your home, and be sure to test them monthly with the test button.

And should a fire ever strike in your home, be prepared with a family emergency plan ahead of time.

So many sweet children lose their life too soon, by one mistake that could have been avoided.
