The Shocking Truth Behind This Retailer’s Demise Exposed

It may come as no surprise that many brick-and-mortar stores have closed their doors in recent years due to a spike in online shopping.

Some chain stores have been able to weather the storm by focusing on their target demographic with innovative new products and advertising, but others have had to shut down for good.

One retailer has found that the online marketplace is not the only reason it is closing its doors – in fact, it is partially responsible for its own demise.

Human Life International reported on the real reason the Toys “R” Us chain is going out of business:

“Most of our end-customers are newborns and children,” the company explained in a recent financial filing, and “as a result, our revenues are dependent on the birth rates in countries where we operate.”  In other words, no babies, no toys. No toys, no Toys “R” Us.

In that same filing, Toys “R” Us continued: “In recent years, many countries’ birth rates have dropped or stagnated…A continued and significant decline in the number of newborns and children in these countries could have a material adverse effect on our operating results.”  And that is precisely what has happened.

The U.S. fertility rate is dropping to the point that our population is not replacing itself from one generation to the next.  This rate is currently one-third of what it was in the 1960s.

Couples are having less children, and the horror of abortion takes the lives of thousands upon thousands of preborn children per year.

And therein lies the truth behind the end of the decades-long reign of Toys “R” Us – and it’s shocking and ironic.

Toys “R” Us has been a corporate supporter of Planned Parenthood for years.  They have helped to literally kill off their future customers and put themselves out of business in the process.

For years, the left has bullied businesses to be “politically correct” and “socially conscious” in order to continue to receive the hard-earned money of consumers.  Of course, to the left, that means sponsoring their causes.  Corporations like Toys “R” Us, therefore, donate millions of dollars a year to leftist organizations.

Human Life International continued:

Planned Parenthood, of course, directly kills some 300,000 unborn U.S. citizens per year – in other words, 300,000 of Toys “R” Us’ own target demographic. All told, there have been some 60 million (conservative estimate) preborn babies aborted since Roe v. Wade. Imagine if these children had survived the violence of abortion, married and had children of their own? Not only would America’s population be stronger, but there would be huge number of Toys “R” Us customers.

Experts predict that many businesses are going to feel the effects of the decline in population that will continue into the future if things don’t change.

Toys “R” Us is one of the first feeling the effects of the loss of customers stemming from the culture of death in America because their demographic is comprised of the very youngest of consumers – children.

The Washington Post reported:

Charting the birthrate over the past 12 years against the toy giant’s revenue over that same period of time, the Post’s Andrew Van Dam found that the two charts were near mirror-images of each other: as births went down, Toys “R” Us’ revenue went down; as births went up, revenue went up.

But then Van Dam pointed out the obvious: “Toys “R” Us focuses on kids, so it’s feeling the crunch from declining birthrates long before the rest of the economy,” he wrote. “But it’s just a matter of time before the trends that toppled the troubled toy maker put the squeeze on businesses that cater to consumers of all ages.”

Toys “R” Us feels the demographic rumble first, being the business closest to the epicenter of the beginning of life; but everyone else will feel it sooner or later.

The worst of it, continued Van Dam, is that this is a self-perpetuating cycle. If this generation is smaller than the last, because fewer parents are having kids, the generation after that will be even smaller. And in an economy set up to depend on growth, that’s bad news.

This is not only tragic for the U.S., but for other countries who rely on population growth for economic growth.

An anti-life culture is causing a decrease in population all over the world – abortion, homosexual “marriage,” gender confusion, and more all contribute to this decline.

Toys “R” Us is not the first, or the last, to fall prey to economic issues or a changing demographic.  But they are perhaps the first to have such a direct hand in their own demise by aiding the cause of killing off their future shoppers.
