There’s Nothing Equal About It – What You Need to Know About The “Equality” Act

Radical progressives are doing all they can to change laws and traditions because they believe they are “outdated” in their quest to create a “new normal.”

One of their most cherished causes is to create a special class of protected citizens who only represent a very small percentage of American citizens.

They’re now emboldened by passage of their crown-jewel legislation in the House, but they’re hiding the true intentions of the consequences on the rest of us.

H.R. 5, the “Equality” Act, recently passed through the House of Representatives, pushed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats as “anti-discrimination” legislation, targeted toward giving the LGBT community free-rein over our liberties.

Of course, we expected nothing less from the Democrat-controlled House, but they are not the only ones caving to the pressure and scare tactics of progressives.

Eight Republicans also voted in favor of the bill’s passage.

On its face, the bill claims to prevent discrimination against the LGBT community in housing, medical care, and employment by amending the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

But what the bill really does is discriminate against traditional — especially Christian — business owners, doctors, organizations and other groups.

“In fact, this bill legalizes discrimination — government imposed top-down discrimination against those with time-honored views of marriage and gender…[and is] anything but equalizing,” said Republican Rep. Vicky Hartzler before the vote, according to The Hill.

And it has a much darker side that will affect every American citizen in our everyday lives – especially women and vulnerable children – by undermining every right guaranteed by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

We have already seen the devastating effects of similar state-level legislation where Christian business owners have been dragged through the mud – and years of court battles – for standing up for their beliefs.

Private Christian businesses in the wedding and event planning industries have been fined to the point of losing their companies and life savings because they didn’t want to provide services for homosexual couples.

And it’s only going to get worse.

Should the Equality Act become national law, it would also shut down Christian charities or groups who support traditional values.

It would force any business – including churches and daycare centers – to hire homosexuals and transgenders, allowing predators to use the law in their favor to gain access to our children.

Doctors would be forced against their medical judgment to perform any requested transgender transition surgeries or provide dangerous hormonal treatments – even to children.

Even parents could be in danger of losing custody of their own minor child for not supporting and encouraging their child’s request to go through gender transition — going so far as to label parental concerns as abuse for preventing something “necessary for the child’s well-being.”

And what about traditionally male and female roles in sports and clubs?  Wiped out.

Biological males who “identify” as women would be allowed to compete against real women in sports and virtually any other club or organization.

We’ve already seen this in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, who both now allow anyone to join either organization.  Next, we’ll see these organizations change their hundred-year-old names so they are not being “discriminatory.”

The Equality Act also opens the door for the transgender bathroom agenda so heavily supported by former President Barack Obama.

Businesses and schools will be legally required to allow men in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, hotel rooms on school field trips — you name it.

And this practice will inevitably open the door for more sexual assaults against women and young girls as boys and men who simply claim to be transgender will have unrestricted access to women in their most private spaces.

Can you imagine a senior high school trip in which a biologically male student is assigned to room overnight with a girl because he claims to be a “girl?”

And because of the possible repercussions of being accused of discrimination themselves, victims of rape and sexual assault will be far less likely to report crimes perpetrated against them by transgenders.

The potential consequences are horrific.

Conservatives who speak or act in defense of their beliefs or Christian faith will be persecuted – and prosecuted – as “bigots.”

It is a world turned upside-down, and not at all supportive of our Constitutional rights to free speech, association, and religion.

For now, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has put a Senate vote on the Equality Act on hold, and it would likely not pass through the Republican-controlled chamber.

President Trump has also made it clear he would not sign such a bill into law if it did happen to pass in the Senate.

“The Trump administration absolutely opposes discrimination of any kind and supports the equal treatment of all.  However, this bill in its current form is filled with poison pills that threaten to undermine parental and conscience rights,” said a senior White House spokesman according to NBC News.

But you can bet, if Democrats happen to take over the Senate and/or the White House in elections down the road, this will become the future of America.

Perhaps most frightening is that such a small minority of Americans who identify as homosexual and transgender are completely rewriting history and the rule of law.

They are backed by the power and money of corporations and government officials who are more worried about their image than the safety and freedoms of all Americans.

If the Equality Act ever becomes the law of the land, it will change the face of our nation.  It is a frightening prospect, indeed.
