World’s Smallest Baby Brings Life to Those Liberals Disregard

Those in favor of abortion legislation try to justify taking the life of a child by using the term “age of viability.”

This denotes that the baby would not have survived outside the womb, and therefore the pro-death camp believes this means he or she is not yet a “real child.”

But the age of viability is not a fixed number, and each child has their own path. Just ask little Saybie.

The title of the “World’s Smallest Baby”, maintained by the University of Iowa, used to belong to a girl in Germany who was born weighing 252 grams in 2015.

The title was passed on to one little miracle nicknamed “Saybie”, who stole the hearts of all those around her by weighing in 7 grams less.

NBC News reports:

One family’s bundle of joy was only 8.6 ounces. And now she’s a title holder, snagging the world record for smallest surviving baby.

The baby girl was delivered in December at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns in San Diego at 23 weeks, three months earlier than planned. A full-term birth occurs between week 37 and week 42, according to the hospital.”

Saybie’s mother suffered from preeclampsia, a pregnancy complication that is defined by high blood pressure in the mother.

The condition causes many complications and can sometimes prove fatal for the mother or baby.

An emergency Caesarian section was performed after it was discovered that little Saybie wasn’t gaining any weight due to the preeclampsia.

After a frightening delivery, Saybie’s parents were given the harrowing news that their little girl may not survive the next 24 hours.

In a video released by the hospital, Saybie’s mother tells the story from when she received the heart-breaking news to the glimmer of hope that came after:

They told my husband he had about an hour with her and that she was going to die. But that hour turned into two hours. Which turned into a day. Which turned into a week.”

Against all odds, and even surprising the medical staff who call Saybie a “miracle”, according to NBC News, little Saybie excelled in development to become a healthy infant.

Devyn Kohl said in a tearful address to NBC News:

I’m just really proud of them and the baby, and to just see them transform as parents and see this little baby go home that usually is like completely against all odds”

Weighing 5.6 pounds when her happy parents were able to take her home, Saybie shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Another nurse, Emma Wiest, has high hopes for Saybie’s future saying, “I mean if she can start off where she was and do as well as she can be, there’s nothing she can’t do.”

The entire staff that delivered exceptional care to Saybie have become “friends” to her mother, who couldn’t be more grateful for their contribution in her baby’s progress.

Sadly, not all children Saybie’s age are given the same opportunities to thrive, but are instead brushed under the carpet of insignificance by liberals looking to destroy a generation under the flag of “choice.”

The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, commonly referred to as the “20-week abortion ban”, prohibits abortions after the baby is considered viable outside of the womb.

According to the Washington Post, the age of viability is considered to be between 24 and 28 weeks.

The weight of viability, as reported by Athabasca University, is “greater than 500 grams”, which coincides with the belief by most medical professionals.

In an article published by the National Institute of Health, it was said that babies at many hospitals will not even be resuscitated under 500 grams.

All of this points to the atrocity displayed by abortion legislation, and the attitude of the medical community in general, towards the sanctity of human life.

With sheer numbers, most leftists, and the bulk of the people we count on for life saving measures, don’t believe that Saybie was a life worth saving.

Thank God that Saybie was delivered in the hospital she was treated in, a hospital that didn’t let her gestational age decide if she was allowed to fight for her place in this world.

Extremely premature babies are having increased survival rates, more than doctors had thought possible, according to the New York Times, raising questions about how aggressively they should be treated and posing implications for the debate about abortion.”

Dr. David Burchfield, the chief of neonatology at the University of Florida, put it perfectly:

It confirms that if you don’t do anything, these babies will not make it, and if you do something, some of them will make it,”

The Supreme Court has built a lot of legislation concerning abortion on the premise that it should be legal if the baby is not viable outside of the womb.

Each premature baby, like Saybie, who defies the medical standards placed on them, make such preposterous verbiage more evident.

Killing our children is wrong. Trying to tweak the science to justify mass murders, or attempting to  redefine God-given value is not going to change that.
