Sure, you can take them out for ice cream and celebrate, but make sure to genuinely let your child know you are proud.
You can think of fun written words of affirmation leading up to their milestone, such as writing sweet notes to put in their lunchbox, or a note on their pillow before bed.
By showing your child you are interested in their life, they’ll want to involve you even more.
