Chick-fil-A Gets An After Hours Miracle

Whether it’s dining in, eating out, or getting some drive-thru food, Americans have a love affair with their favorite fare.

Pregnancy only exacerbates your desire to feast on your favorite dishes, with cravings making it feel near impossible to stay away.

One mom stopped at her favorite food joint on the way to one of the biggest moments of her life, only to realize she was in for more than she thought possible.

KSAT ABC News 12 reported:

“Chick-fil-A has always been the Griffin family’s favorite place to chow down, but it’s clearly not the place they’d choose to deliver their baby. However, that’s exactly what happened.”

Falon Griffin was pregnant with her third child when contractions began Tuesday night. Her husband, Robert, got everything together and headed toward the hospital.

On the way to the hospital, the family’s two daughters were taken to a family friends home, according to ABC 7 News, but shortly after they were dropped off Falon had to go to the bathroom.

The couple stopped at their favorite food establishment Chik-fil-A for what they thought to be a quick restroom break. When they got to the door, it was locked but a staff member let Falon in anyway.

To everyone’s surprise, Falon began screaming in the bathroom, realizing she was in active labor.

“I’m about to dial 911, I open the door and she’s just screaming,”Brenda Enriquez, the store director at Chik-fil-A said according to ABC 7 News.

Enriquez told Robert to go to his wife immediately while she grabbed some towels.

Having a baby at a fast food restaurant was never what the Griffins had imagined or planned, but the baby was coming out regardless, so they made the best of it.

“I looked at her and said, ‘We’re going to do it right here, right now”, the dad of three said.

As the baby girl was making her debut, Robert noticed that something white was around the little girl’s neck.

ABC News reported:

“I stopped her at her shoulders because I saw what looked to be a white collar around her neck, and it was the cord that had been wrapped around her neck twice,” Robert Griffin said.”

In his first act of being his little girl’s hero, Robert saved Gracelyn’s life by removing the umbilical cord from around her neck before advancing in the delivery.

Emergency personnel arrived a mere 10 minutes after Gracelyn was delivered, being kept warm by the blankets the store director had ready.

Although, Falon had her baby in a less than ideal delivery room, at the end of the day she was just happy that her little girl was safe.

Falon reported to KSAT ABC News 12:

“All I cared about at the end of the day was the baby was breathing, and by the time they (first responders) arrived, she was pink, thankfully for those blankets for keeping her warm.”

The happy parents and their new bundle of joy were brought to University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.

Ironically, only three months earlier, Robert and Falon bought the baby a Chik-fil-A onesie for when she was to be born that read “Little Nugget” on the front; little did they know the importance that first outfit would have.

In celebration of Gracelyn’s unorthodox appearance, the franchise she was born at is offering her free food for life, as well as, a guaranteed job at 14-years-old if she wants it.

Floods of comments poured into Twitter about the story, with one user wondering if you could use giving birth at places like Ferrari to receive the same perks.

Among all the humorous and uplifting comments concerning Gracelyn’s grand appearance, there were also scattered attempted negative tweets pointing out Chik-fil-A’s position on standing against same-sex marriages.

One Twitter user commented how Gracelyn would get free food for life unless she claimed to be homosexual.

Company chief executive of Chik-fil-A, Dan Cathy, has spoken publicly against same-sex marriages, according to the Huffington Post, saying that he supports “the biblical definition of the family unit.”

The popular Christian owned company has received heat from the media before for giving millions of dollars to fight against the LGBT agenda.

Despite their position, the company has maintained a respectful relationship with all types of people, employing many homosexual individuals, according to the Huffington Post.

I suspect that politics will not get in the way of little Gracelyn taking Chik-fil-A up on their generous offer to provide free food for life.

After an exciting few days, the Griffins and their newest addition are settling down, no doubt reminiscing on the story that will surely be told with laughter for years to come.
