Making it to the playoffs is the highlight for many young high school athletes.

They have spent countless hours practicing and building relationships with teammates and deserve to have their hard work rewarded.

But one Christian school had the door to competing slammed in their face, and you won’t believe the infuriating reason why.

Mid Vermont Christian School’s girls’ basketball team was geared up to compete in a recent state competition.

However, after finding out one competing school had a biological male on the girls’ basketball team, Mid Vermont Christian School decided that playing this team, “’jeopardizes the fairness of the game and the safety’ of its team members” as reported by Valley News.

Most people would agree.

This is not the first time girls’ sports have been put in jeopardy by transgender policies.

One girl even lost her scholarship because a biological male athlete won first place in a female sporting event.

Unfortunately, the Vermont Principals’ Association does not agree.

Mid Vermont Christian School was not only not allowed to compete in the girls; basketball competition, but it appears the entire school’s athletic program is in jeopardy of participating in future state competitions.

Outrageous!

The governing body claimed,

“…the private religious school had violated the state athletic program’s ‘commitment to racial, gender-fair, and disability awareness,’ and ‘gender identity’ when it declined to play the Division IV playoff game against Long Trail.” – as reported by Elizabeth Johnston.

But they took it even further!

In an astonishing announcement, officials said that Mid Vermont Christian School’s “K-12 students would be ineligible for any state-sponsored athletic activities going forward.

‘VPA policy prohibit discrimination and/or harassment of students on school property or at school functions by students or employees, officials wrote.

“The prohibition against discrimination includes discrimination based on a student’s actual or perceived sex and gender,” as reported in the New York Post.

The students and school administrators are understandably very disappointed with this decision.

Who can blame them?

The Left will stop at nothing to push their perverse policies on our children.

Luckily, there are courageous adults standing up for what is right.

Vicky Fogg, Head of Mid Vermont Christian School, had this to say in response,

“Cancelling our membership is not a solution and does nothing to deal with the very real issues

of safety and fairness facing women’s sports in our beloved state.

“We urge the VPA to reconsider its policies and balance the rights of every athlete in the state.

“Allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports sets a bad precedent for the future of women’s sports in general,” as reported in the New York Post.

It is hard to believe that young girls would ever be put in such a position.

However, we can be grateful for those standing up to these injustices, no matter the cost.
