Family Favorite Comes Back Swinging After Being Targeted By The Left

Progressive propaganda has completely destroyed family television programming.

Mainstream media, Hollywood entertainment companies, and many actors themselves look for any chance to further the agenda of the left.

Not the case, however, with one highly-rated show that has returned to television after a suspicious cancellation over a year ago.

The sitcom Last Man Standing aired for six seasons on ABC, receiving rave reviews and good ratings.

American viewers were surprised and disappointed — and the cast stunned — when they heard that ABC would not renew the show after season six.

Although ABC denied any political motivation, star Tim Allen and viewers knew the real story.

Unlike almost everything else on TV these days – including children’s programming – the storylines of Last Man Standing revolve around a conservative-leaning father, played by Allen, his long, happy marriage, and raising children.

Allen’s character, Mike Baxter, and his wife are raising three daughters, with all the chaos and drama that comes with it, so he enjoys escaping to his job at “The Outdoor Man” store.

The characters at the sporting goods store like their guns, hunting, and other “manly” pursuits and the girls at home talk about dating, clothes, and other traditionally female topics.

In other words, a show about a loving family who believes in traditional values and societal norms.

A show about the interests and real family issues experienced by American families, not one that constantly flaunts the ideology of the less than four percent of Americans in the LGBT community that most networks cater to.

And that was its downfall – until now.

The show returned to the air on Friday, September 28th, to strong ratings.  It was, in fact, the most highly-rated show that evening on its new network, Fox.

Compared to its last season on ABC, which garnered around six million viewers per episode, the reboot on Fox drew in eight million – great news for its future success.

Allen commented on the shocking cancellation by ABC last year, finding it hard to believe that a top-rated show would be cancelled unless there was an underlying agenda.

In 2017, Allen told Entertainment Weekly that,

there is nothing more dangerous, especially in this climate, than a funny, likable conservative character. He is mitigated on the show by a family of women who had a difference of opinions, but he was a likeable guy and a principled guy about work and ethics and all this stuff, I think.”

Allen has come under fire by liberal colleagues for his conservative views and has been scorned for defending President Trump.

He has made it clear that he does not like the constant spin put on entertainment by the left, and that he just wants “government to do its job.”

And the left can’t have that.

Allen commented last year that the constant attacks on Trump are completely unfair and disrespectful to the office of the presidency, telling Fox News at the time:

“I’ve met [Trump]…and that certainly doesn’t fit with the man who tweets. I’ve met a lot of people in private whose public persona is a bit off. My perception is ‘let’s see what he gets done.’

Let’s stop banging on the pilot’s door and trying to pull the guy out of his seat while he’s still flying. You might not like how he’s flying the plane but let’s let him land it.

Somebody got this NAFTA thing done. How did that happen? It’s like a slight of hand with this dude.”

While Allen says that Last Man Standing is not political, ABC had no apparent reason for cancelling the show other than the fact that it was well-loved by conservatives looking for something – anything — appropriate for family viewing.

Other networks claimed they couldn’t pick up the show due to the “high cost” since it came from outside network 20th Century Fox Television, but Allen and his fans disagree with their reasoning.

Whatever the agenda by ABC, the show seems to have a future on its new network.  The high ratings for the first episode of the reboot and positive comments from excited fans are sending Fox a message – “We want more Last Man Standing!”
