Heartwarming: Mom Helps Her Baby Girl Ring Hospital Bell After Beating Brain Cancer

It’s every mother’s worst nightmare to receive the news their precious child has been diagnosed with cancer.

So when little Lily was born at 39 weeks having difficulty moving her tiny limbs, an MRI revealed the unthinkable – she had grade 4 brain cancer.

Things looked bleak – and she received a death sentence.

No one thought she was going to make it out of this alive.

But thanks to a lot of prayers and a really good medical team – Lily was able to overcome.

And it’s because of the persistence of her parents and an incredible team of doctors this horrific story has a happy ending.

When her parents first found out little Lily had brain cancer, naturally they were shocked and devastated.

The tumor was spreading fast, so they started with general chemotherapy hoping to slow down the growth.

But it wasn’t enough.

Having to get approval from insurance, Lily needed targeted therapy to stop the cancer from spreading.

But it wasn’t cheap – so her family set up a GoFundMe page hoping to raise support to pay for the treatment.

Lily’s family wrote a heartfelt message requesting help on her GoFundMe page that is sure to bring tears to your eyes.

“Your baby has brain cancer.

As a parent, there is no way to prepare for those words. One minute you’re living your dream, the next minute, a doctor is telling you your beautiful angel you’ve waited your whole life for will likely die”.

One can’t imagine the sheer horror this mother went through thinking she was going to lose her precious baby.

Watching little ones suffer and have to undergo medical treatments can cause a mother to feel helpless or powerless.

But as it turned out – the treatments actually worked!

Just 3 weeks after targeted therapy began, Lily’s tumor was gone.

Her mother gives glory to God, and credits her prayers and faith in Him were strengthened during this difficult time.

On the GoFundMe page Lily’s mother wrote:

“I needed to take this moment to give it up to the Lord on this one. I got on my hands and knees and never prayed so hard in my life.

Lord, I know you never give more than we can handle, but I can’t handle anymore. Please, I can’t handle anymore… I need my baby.”

And while not all stories have a happy ending, Lily’s does.

The entire hospital wanted to celebrate the victory of Lily overcoming the odds, so they invited her parents to participate in declaring Lily as “cancer free.”

A bell on the wall was to be rung, but little Lily was too young to ring it – so her parents helped her.

Instead of having to bury their little girl, Lily’s parents helped her to ring the bell in the hospital – declaring she was officially cancer free!

What an amazing testimony and heartwarming story.

Our hearts are with this family and pray Lily continues to remain cancer free.
