- Don’t push social scenarios
When you see your child struggling to make friends, or sitting alone at lunch, it is heartbreaking.
The first reaction many parents feel is to force them into social interactions to “help” them advance their skills.
Be patient. Provide support and skills to give your child the tools needed to excel.
It’s perfectly fine to offer solutions, like suggesting a sports team, or club at school to be involved with more students, but don’t invite a couple of kids over to play without telling them.
