Watching children romp around on the playground is so refreshing. During a game of tag, kids aren’t thinking about racial tensions, intolerance issues, or social diversity.
And watching as society tries to rip apart the progress of equality is gut-wrenching. From the abolition of slavery to the closing gap of racial diversity in the United States, American society had reached near a point of respect for the melting pot.
In a melting pot, all ingredients are put together to make one delightful concoction. Each ingredient adds a special flavor but doesn’t take away from the finished product.
Unfortunately, we have steered away as a nation from any form of equality and have replaced it with efforts to single out races.
Anshu Wahi is a leading figure in the movement to separate the races in order to raise up minorities to an elite status. What’s worse is that her social experiment subjects are children in the Upper West Side. Warping these children’s minds is child abuse.
Bank Street School in Manhattan is propagating to the children they are born racist if they are white. This is promoted by Wahi, who considers herself a social justice activist and has been the director of diversity at Bank Street since 2013.
The Activist Mommy reported:
“For part of their curriculum, students are segregated into separate classes. White kids are taught to raise their “awareness of the prevalence of Whiteness and privilege,” challenge assumptions of ‘normal,’ ‘good,’ and ‘American’” and “understand and own European ancestry and see the tie to privilege.” In a separate room, black kids are encouraged to “voice their feelings” and “share experiences about being a kid of color.””
This kind of diversity awareness doesn’t close the gap of racism, it only broadens it. It takes the problems that we worked through with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and reverses the roles.
Bank Street School administration “teaches students as young as 6 that they’re born racist and should feel guilty benefiting from ‘white privilege’”, according to the New York Post.
Administrators try to justify this child abuse by saying they are using progressive means of diversity awareness. These methods only seek to disparage the white children, while victimizing the children of color.
The Activist Mommy reported:
“Kids are coming home in tears, saying, “I’m a bad person.” Another young girl is seen confessing on video “I feel guilty for having a privilege I don’t deserve.””
How is making someone, no matter their race, feel shameful for the skin they were born into teaching diversity awareness?
The answer is, it’s not. The lesson learned here is that our skin color defines our role in society, and that is exactly what real social justice activists have been fighting against.
The New York Post reported:
“Under Bank Street’s “Racial Justice and Advocacy” curriculum, parents say, teachers push white kids to grapple with America’s history of racism. Then they indoctrinate them into thinking “systemic racism” still exists, and that they’re part of the problem and must hold themselves accountable even for acts of racism committed by others.”
The opportunities America offers, and the freedoms we have fought centuries to establish and protect, have been a product of an arduous journey.
There are many ignorant and naive choices people have made historically that don’t define the proud Americans that represent this nation today.
Systemic racism, coined by sociologist Joe Feagin, is an attempt to begrudgingly hold accountable an entire race for actions long been overturned; typically in relation to our founding fathers and their support of slavery.
Parents of Bank Street students are angry at the lessons being taught under the umbrella of diversity education.
One parent, according to The Activist Mommy, said:
“the school has been increasing anti-white propaganda in its curriculum”.
Another parent, according to the New York Post,stated:
“One hundred percent of the curriculum is what whites have done to other races. They offer nothing that would balance the story.”
Wahi wants to hyperfocus on racial differences, rather than try to have people looked at for their individual merit apart from skin tone.
The New York Post reported:
“Forget teaching them to be color-blind — that’s a cop-out, she suggests, an excuse to ignore the hardships of people of color. It’s also a “tool of whiteness” to perpetuate the “oppression” of people of color, according to one paper she recommends parents read.
Wahi believes even white babies display signs of racism, so she encourages parents to talk to their kids about race as early as kindergarten, making them hyperaware of racial differences, and even “examine your own whiteness.””
How can babies be racist? Children need to be modeled or taught racism. In the case of Bank Street School that is exactly what is being done on both accounts.
Administration is modeling racism through preferential treatment depending on your skin color and teaching that you are inherently good or bad depending on your race.
The children of color are being done a huge disservice by being shown they are a victim because of the skin color they are born into. And they are being shown they deserve different treatment from others because of their skin color and not their efforts.
It is scary to think of the outcome of a generation brought up with these deranged ideologies. Our definition of progressive needs to change.
This is child abuse. The children are going through psychological damage being made to think they are less of a person because they were born a certain way; a situation they are powerless to change, and a philosophy deemed racist and degrading over 100 years ago.
