Reckless Daycare Workers Put Babies Through Unimaginable Horror

Parents drop off their precious children at daycare trusting the workers to carefully look after their little ones.

However, not all daycares are a safe place for little ones to be.

But nothing could prepare these moms for the unthinkable horror that took place once their babies were in the hands of these workers.

As it turns out, one local daycare is being investigated for tying up babies in blankets, secured with a hair tie, then carelessly placing them face down to sleep.

One mom tells of the phone call she received from the Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF) which changed her life forever.

This mom literally found herself shaken with fear when she found out what happened to her baby.

ABC Action News reported:

“The DCF worker couldn’t send her the photo, so Tanya drove directly to the DCF offices in Leavenworth.

“It was a picture of him in a sleep sack with his arms bound down and the sleeves of the sleep sack tied to the back with a ponytail holder, and he was laid face down with his face pretty much in the corner,” she said, shaking.

Tayna drove directly from the DCF office that day to the daycare, picked up her son, and he hasn’t been back.

Tanya said she’s not really an emotional person, but the situation has been difficult.

“You know, I was in the military for 22 years. I don’t shake easily…” she said. “This shook me to my core.”

One can’t even imagine the fear racing through Tanya’s mind as she saw a picture of her helpless baby tied up.

Driving to pick him up must have felt like an eternity, and thankfully he was safe when she arrived.

No mother should have to question if her child is safe at a daycare, but it happens more often than one would think.

But Tanya wasn’t the only one whose baby was tied up.

Sadly, more moms had the same story.

ABC Action News continued:

“Deirdre Engle said she got a call, too.

Someone had reported her daughter, Elora, being put down the same way — in a sleep sack, face down, with the sack pulled tight with a hair band.

Engle said DCF had a photo and was investigating.

“First, I thought there’s no way that’s my baby, she looks so small! She’s laying on her tummy like she always does, but she looks uncomfortable. She’s tied up. My baby is tied up,” Engle said in a phone call. “She can’t roll over, she can’t sit up, if she were to cough up any of her formula, she’d choke. I got scared for her. She’s been at this daycare since she was 5 weeks old. I’ve trusted these people for her entire life and I was wrong,” wrote Engle.

Babies are utterly helpless and dependent on the care of an adult to keep them safe.

Mothers have an inherent desire to protect their babies, and seeing one’s child helpless and tied up must have been absolutely traumatizing for both the mother and child.

It’s unconscionable to think these babies were tied up and placed face down, where they could have easily suffocated or choked.

But the recklessness and disregard for their safety isn’t a minor mishap, it should be criminal.

Do you think the daycare workers should be punished?

What would you do, if you found out your baby had been tied down, held together with a hair tie, and unable to move?
