The Irony In Pro-Socialism Activists Disdain For Government

There is a frightening trend happening in politics right now – other than the typical liberal agenda.

The push to re-write history for our younger generations and the wave of entitlement among citizens in the United States has created a flock of dangerous and misguided individuals.

The worst part may be that they have no idea what they are talking about!

Socialism is a society in which the means of production, distribution, and exchange is controlled by the community in which it is practiced.

More widely, socialism is popularized by Marxist theory which describes socialism as “a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of Communism.”

And as history has demonstrated time and time again, this form of government does not benefit the people under its rule.

Is it a coincidence liberals want to eliminate accurate historical accounts from the classrooms, as the Washington Post reports?

I think not.

The Daily Wire reports:

Millennials and Gen Z-ers are becoming increasingly comfortable with socialism, according to the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), which conducts an annual poll assessing Americans’ attitudes toward socialism.”

And why do they think there is this upward trend of socialist sympathy?

VOC Executive Director Marion Smith attributes it “to a failure of American educational institutions, definitional misunderstandings and a double standard in media and on social media.”

We already know the social media giants, like Twitter and Facebook, are censoring conservative speech so that the liberal chatter can be heard loud and clear, as Mommy Underground has previously reported.

Then there are prominent political figures, like Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez D-NY, who support socialism and have gained a type of cult following.

The problem is the young AOC and her even younger flock is attempting to redefine socialism to fit the perfect society they have created in their head.

During an interview with Business Insider, AOC said that socialism to her is “single-payer health care” and “tuition-free public colleges and universities.

Black Lives Matter has been swarming the news lately as they protest deaths in many major cities around the United States.

The group was co-founded by Patrisse Cullors and Alicia Garza, who have called themselves “trained Marxists,” the Daily Wire reports, and Opal Tometi who was invited to Venezuela’s 2015 election by the socialist government.

We have seen those representing Black Lives Matter assault police officers and openly speak out against the nation’s government saying they need to “burn down this system,” according to The New York Post.

What these groups and individuals who are so pro-socialism and anti-American government don’t realize is that the society they crave is not one of peace, love, and equality like they expect.

Venezuela was praised as the beacon of a Chavez and Maduro socialist society until the complex humanitarian emergency was declared after the country lost their economy, resources, and infrastructure.

Prior to turning toward socialism with support from the People’s Republic of China, Venezuela was a thriving country with hopeful prosperity.

You could bet that the young Americans raising their Chavez signs high into the air have no idea that “100 million people have been killed by communist parties in power over the last century,” according to VOC.

Smith explained the dilemma well:

You combine that lack of a moral reckoning about the legacy of communism with a failure of education to teach basic 20th-century history, and you add on … a normalization of the term ‘socialism’ — of Marxist rhetoric — and that leads to a dangerous normalization of socialism as a path forward.”

Millennials seem to think that countries like Sweden are shining examples of socialism at their best, but that does not explain their government in entirety.

The Norwegian countries favor free market and are okay with private ownership.

In an interesting poll by the VOC, individuals were asked about who they would trust most to look after their best interests.

The results were astounding, as told by Smith:

Overwhelmingly, but also the majority of Millennials and Gen-Zers, would trust themselves by far, secondly then their community, and last and by far, the government.”

It is clear that those propagating socialism ironically believe they should be responsible for their own interests, and that the government is the last institution who would put you first.

Let’s just hope the younger generations realize their folly before they are the only voice left in our great nation.
