Always give positive reinforcement.
When your kids are playing well together, point out exactly how they are doing well, and praise them.
“That was so nice that you shared your blocks with your sister, she really likes to play with you.”
It can feel like your days are filled with more reprimanding than complimenting, try to make a conscious effort to give out more positivity than negativity; and you will see a difference in your child’s behavior.
Sibling rivalry is exhausting for the whole family, but hopefully after implementing some of these techniques you can curb some of the arguments.
Try to remind yourself when they do get into a tiff about something you see as minuscule, that they are learning valuable life lessons that siblings get the privilege to assist in.
