Be sure to communicate with all those involved in your birthing experience when possible.
This will keep you on the forefront of any developments as you progress. You should be informed when a situation results in a necessary detour from what you had wanted.
With that being said, babies sometimes have a mind of their own (and they aren’t even teenagers yet). You may have had your heart set on a certain way for everything to go, but plans are prone to change.
Try to be flexible, and have contingency plans laid out attached to your birth plan, so if labor rears off track, you won’t be completely in the dark.
