The world was shocked, as a leaked photo of a sleeping woman surfaced with a man groping her breasts.
And the man, groping a sleeping woman on a military aircraft, with his ill-behaved smile, was none other than United States Senator Al Franken.
But while Franken assumed his “humor” and reputation would allow him to do whatever he wanted, America gets the last laugh.
In fact, as the allegations against Franken continued to pile on, Franken had no other choice other than to resign.
The photo which sparked the media outrage was horrific.
The sleeping woman had no idea she was being groped, yet Franken did so, and then took a photo of him committing the act as if he were somehow proud.
LifeSite News reported:
“Franken, a longtime supporter of abortion giant Planned Parenthood, first came under scrutiny when a photo surfaced of him groping a radio host while she slept.
The radio host, Leeann Tweeden, also said he forcibly kissed her and put his tongue in her mouth.
Franken eventually issued an apology to Tweeden.
Another woman said Franken grabbed her buttocks during a 2010 state fair.
Others also came forward accusing Franken of sexual impropriety or groping, bringing the number to at least seven.
One woman, a congressional aide in 2006 before Franken was elected to the U.S. Senate, said he tried to forcibly kiss her.
During his resignation speech, Franken said he now realizes how his actions have affected women.
“A couple months ago…we were finally beginning to listen to women about the ways in which men’s actions affect them,” he said.
“Then the conversation turned to me,” he continued. “Over the last few weeks, a number of women have come forward to talk about how they felt my actions had affected them.”
“I was shocked. I was upset,” Franken went on. “But in responding to their claims I also wanted to be respectful of that broader conversation.”
The sheer audacity and nerve.
Franken actually said HE was upset that women who had been groped by him came forward.
But he didn’t seem too concerned about their feelings as he was inappropriately touching them or forcing his tongue down their throats.
However, now all of a sudden he’s developed some moral backbone?
Doubtful.
Since 2009, Al Franken has spent his Senate career fighting against everything conservatives hold near and dear.
A fierce advocate for abortion, a strong advocate for Obamacare, and an ally of the LGBT movement, Franken brought chaos to everything he touched.
And now with proof he’s sexually assaulted women, it’s not surprising given his pattern of arrogance and lack of remorse.
But thankfully, he will no longer serve as a member of Congress, and it’s doubtful his presence will be missed in the halls.
Props to the women for the courage to stand up to sexual abuse and assault.
No man ever has the right to grope, touch, or fondle a woman without her consent. And every woman has the right to be treated with respect as a human being, not a toy.
And for once, justice is served.
