New York Gives Liberal Celebrities A Free Pass From Strict Mandates

It has been painfully obvious that New York is a biased state, raising up liberal propaganda while attempting to crush any morsel of conservatism.

The Empire State is at the forefront of eliminating individual freedoms during the pandemic, but like with most liberal policies, they only want to enforce oppressive regulations when it is convenient for them.

And when it came time for popular figures to make their mark out goes any rule they find inconvenient- despite what the rest of the state must endure to avoid harsh penalties.

New York has undergone a strict lockdown to their borders, requiring any individual who is coming in from a state they consider to have a high coronavirus infection rate to quarantine for 14 days before being allowed to enter the state freely.

The list is lengthy but includes Puerto Rico and states that have received a lot of media attention for the way they have handled the pandemic, such as Texas and Florida.

If one chooses to not quarantine upon landing on New York soil they can accrue hefty fines of up to 10,000 or even face jail time.

Once in the state, you can expect most activities to be close to semi-normal…that is unless you want to go to church.

Churches have not been able to open at full capacity, yet the subway that shuffles 4.3 million people around every day in the Big Apple alone is fully operational.

All New York residents and visitors are also required to wear masks when in a public space.

However, none of the state mandates have been enforced on pop stars coming in from out-of-state to participate in the annual MTV Video Music Awards- which wasn’t cancelled like real music performances worth seeing such as all of Broadway and the New York Philharmonic.

Activist Mommy reports:

While the average traveler coming from any of the 34 states on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s list of high-risk hotspots would be made to quarantine for 14 days upon their arrival in New York, artists including Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus have been given a “semi-exemption” to the policy.”

Although the VMA’s were moved to a series of outdoor arenas as opposed to the Barclays where it originally was going to take place, some audience members were allowed and none of the celebrities had to quarantine prior to arriving.

According to the New York Post, a spokeswoman for Gov. Andrew Cuomo said they can: “participate in the production of the show, but they will only interact with other members of the cast and crew and will quarantine when not working.”

It is not surprising that some celebrities are completely disregarding the governor’s instruction, and why not?

He has already made it clear that celebrities don’t have to follow the rules or be liable for the repercussions of breaking them.

The VMAs bring in a lot of revenue for New York.

While state officials seem willing to give up resident’s jobs to stay vigilant in the “fight against the coronavirus,” they are not willing to give up fame and fortune.

So, is New York really concerned about the spread of the coronavirus in this situation, or more that they don’t lose their spot as the epicenter for the rich and famous?

Total fear and reliance on the government is what is keeping New York residents under the bondage of the left.

Unfortunately, the city will continue to be under oppressive leadership, allowing access to freedom when it is convenient for them, until conservative values grip the hearts and minds of those living there.
