- Wear appropriate clothing
There is a certain attire you want to aim for to reduce the amount of exposed skin. The harder it is for the tick to reach an injection site, the bigger chance they will look elsewhere.
If you are going to be spending any time near brush, decaying earth, or in a wooded area gear up in long pants, proper footwear as discussed previously, long sleeves, and a hat.
Periodically examine your clothes if out for an extended period of time, to hopefully catch ticks that are looking for an entry point, and brush them off.
