Public School Forces Athletes To Wear “Monitors” To Enforce Social Distancing Rules

More than a year later, our students continue to feel the residual effects of COVID-19 mandates – and it’s only getting worse.

They’ve been yanked out of schools, forced into distance learning, mandated to wear masks, and told they must socially distance from one another.

Sadly, student athletes have been hit the hardest – and just wait until you read what they are forced to do now.

Sports are a healthy way for children to connect with their peers and learn how to work together as a team.

Playing sports allows children to build lifelong friendships and understand how hard work and persistence pays off.

Being active in recreational activities keeps kids out of trouble – and of course they have fun playing sports with their friends!

COVID-19 canceled many sports – or forced impossible restrictions on kids. Have you ever tried running in a mask?

Talk about having a hard time breathing!

And now, yet again, they are treating students like prisoners, actually forcing them to wear athletic proximity monitors to ensure they are properly “social distancing” from each other.

Even more insulting – district officials claim the monitors are completely optional.

Great!

So, students should be able to opt-out, right?

Well, yes, they can – but parents are told if they don’t sign the form and wear the monitor – they can’t play sports.

Cleary these tracking devices aren’t “optional” at all – they’re compulsory.

The school posted a statement trying to defend the use of the monitors.

The News Tribune reported:

“We received grant funding (known as ESSER III) that specifically included provisions to support higher-risk athletic programs, and we used some of those funds to pay for athletic proximity monitors,” the statement reads.

“We are using these monitors for high contact and moderate indoor contact sports. The monitors are for both staff (coaches) and students on the field, regardless if they are vaccinated or unvaccinated. If a student or coach tests positive, we will have immediate information regarding athletes’ and coaches’ contacts, so we can more tightly determine who might need to quarantine.”

The school also claims the monitors only track students when they’re on the field.

Still, forcing children to either wear tracking devices or else be prohibited from playing sports with their friends is beyond cruel.

Parents were outraged at being forced to sign the waiver which essentially just forced their consent to have their kids tracked.

But what else could they do?

One parent, Jason Ostendorf, who has two kids in school described the dilemma he faced.

The News Tribune continued:

“I was notified if I didn’t sign it, they couldn’t play,” he said. “My son has played football since he was in third grade. He’s passionate about the sport. … I signed it reluctantly.

It’s either that or he doesn’t play. … It’s not optional. If you don’t sign the waiver, they don’t get to play. You have no choice in the matter.”

School officials continue to use children in their “safety” experiments, ignoring the ways their policies are harming children.

One little girl even tried to follow the mandates and wore a mask – but because her mask said “Jesus Loves Me” on it, it was deemed “offensive” and she was suspended.

It is clear schools are more interested in creating new and more outrageous policies than looking out for the best interests of students.
