In the new era of mask mandates and restrictions, yet again, children are caught in the middle of it all.
Some schools aren’t even meeting in person and have resorted to 100 percent virtual learning while others are meeting but with massive restrictions.
And when one little 3rd grade girl went to school wearing her mask (like she was supposed to) – you won’t believe how her school treated her.
Let’s face it – children are feeling the brunt of COVID-19 policies probably more than any other group.
Instead of playing at recess with their friends, they are forced to socially distance.
No longer can they eat with their friends in the cafeteria, they must be seated at their desk.
Talk about lonely and unnatural!
Not to mention the CONSTANT reminders all around school (and everywhere else) provoking fear of dying from a deadly virus.
After being bombarded by the media, politicians, and school officials to WEAR A MASK, one little third grader complied – but the school found her mask offensive.
No, there wasn’t any nudity or curse words.
There wasn’t anything hateful written on it.
So what made the school so upset at this sweet little girl’s mask?
It had 3 words on it that school officials deemed were inappropriate.
Those 3 simple words were “Jesus Loves Me.”
Yes, that’s right. A little girl loved Jesus, and knew he loved her too and wanted to display it for the world to see.
But something so innocent and beautiful caused outrage in her school, going so far as to have her principal demand she remove it and wear another mask.
Not only did the school ban this little girl from wearing a “Jesus Loves Me” mask – they actually defended their decision and doubled down.
The Superintendent had the audacity to send a letter to parents, students and staff claiming “religious masks” were offensive.
Part of his statement read:
“Masks cannot display political, religious, sexual or any inappropriate symbols, gestures or statements that may be offensive, disruptive or deemed distractive to the school environment. This expectation was outlined in our restart plan and is specific to masks only.”
Clearly, he wanted to emphasize his statement by bolding the last portion of his quote.
Thankfully, the parents of the little girl refused to stand down and have actually filed a federal lawsuit
WLBT reported:
“Alliance Defending Freedom filed a federal lawsuit on the family’s behalf.
The suit alleges the school district infringed on the girl’s first amendment right to free speech.
“Public schools have a duty to respect the free expression of students that the First Amendment guarantees to them,” said ADF Legal Counsel Michael Ross. “…Other students within the school district have freely worn masks with the logos of local sports teams or even the words ‘Black Lives Matter.’ This student deserves an equal opportunity to peacefully express her beliefs.”
This little girl was literally persecuted by her own school simply for wearing a mask that said “Jesus Loves Me”, yet liberals can promote their pro-LGBT agendas and force them onto children with no recourse.
Here’s to hoping victory prevails in the courts!
