Teenagers sometimes find amusement, and thrive, on your disapproval of their friends.

As difficult as it is, make an effort to keep criticism of friends you don’t like to a minimum.

The more you criticize your adolescent’s friends, the more they will cling to them for support; creating a chasm between parent and child that is hard to overcome.
