Heartwarming: Entire Kindergarten Class Attends Fellow Kindergartner’s Adoption Hearing

A little 5-year old boy had an upcoming adoption hearing and had an incredible support group behind him the entire time.

Wanting his friends to share in his joy, he decided to invite his entire kindergarten class to witness his adoption.

And the best part of all is that all 36 of his classmates actually showed up to his adoption hearing to cheer him on and provide moral support.

One can’t imagine a sweeter scene than seeing 36 5-year olds with signs cheering as their fellow classmate got adopted into a new family.

The judge involved the little ones in the process and had them speak.

CNN reported:

“Michael’s adoptive father told CNN his favorite part was when the judge asked everyone present in the room to explain what Michael means to them.

The kindergartners offered the most touching answers, standing up and telling the court, “I love Michael” or “Michael’s my best friend,” his father said.”

This incredible display of love and support moved the entire courtroom and has impacted the nation.

The judge too was incredibly impacted by the overwhelming support the local community had for the 5-year old boy.

A local news station WZZM reported:

“Sometimes their journeys have been very long, they’ve included miracle and change for the children and family and incredible community support as you’re able to see today in Michael’s adoption hearing,” Honorable Judge Patricia Gardner said.

“His whole kindergarten class and school being here to say ‘we love you,’ and ‘we support you’ and we’ll be here not only today but in all the years in the future.’”

While Michael’s story had a happy ending and he was able to be adopted into a loving home right before Christmas, not every story ends this way.

It is estimated over 428,000 children remain stuck in foster care – without having a permanent home.

So many children in this world feel abandoned and rejected.

Thankfully, little Michael experienced a Christmas miracle.

Regardless of his past circumstances, he’s sure to live a well-adjusted life as it is clear he is well loved.

No child deserves to feel unwanted.

If you are able, consider becoming a foster parent and or possibly even adopting a child who is stuck in the system.

You could literally change an entire child’s future with this bold act of love.

In addition, consider supporting organizations that fulfill Christmas wishes for underprivileged children.

Operation Santa is put on by the United States Postal Service which allows families to “adopt” a letter of a child and fulfill their Christmas wish.

If you’re looking for something more local, consider checking with your church to see what ministries they are supporting that help children in need.

With so much heartache and grief in the world, it’s always wonderful to hear pro-adoption stories about kids finding a permanent home.
