Liberals have deemed working overtime to ensure underage girls can get an abortion without their parents’ approval as their “latest quest.”
Of all the “battles” in life to fight – leftists seem to think it’s important to continue to try and pit a parent against their child – and endanger lives in the process.
And once you hear about this leftist’s judge most recent ruling regarding an underage abortion– you’re bound to be horrified.
The teenage girl known as “Jane Doe” knew her parents wouldn’t approve of her abortion.
Florida law requires those under 18 to have parental consent before they can even talk to a doctor about a medical abortion.
But since “Jane Doe” was underage and couldn’t get an abortion without their consent –she went to a judge.
But instead of the judge simply insisting she go home to her parents and let them handle her pregnancy – he intervened in the most radical way.
The teen’s lawyer Rinky Parwani tried to argue that the young girl had “plans” for her future – and that having a baby would “limit her future” since she wasn’t financially stable.
He claims that all young girls “have futures” and understand that a child could “limit those futures.”
At first Judge Jared Smith denied the request – claiming the teen girl didn’t have the intelligence to make such a decision herself.
The teen claimed she was doing well in school and her grades were ‘Bs’ – but the court found out the teen actually had a 2.0 GPA.
Fox 13 News reported:
“In the present case, the circuit court noted that the Petitioner is seventeen years old. However, addressing her “overall intelligence,” the court found her intelligence to be less than average because “[while she claimed that her grades were ‘Bs’ during her testimony, her GPA is currently 2.0. Clearly, a ‘B’ average would not equate to a 2.0 GPA.”
The court reasoned, “Petitioner’s testimony evinces either a lack of intelligence or credibility, either of which weigh against a finding of maturity pursuant to the statute.”
That should have been the end of it.
But the sleazy lawyer appealed, and a new judge ruled the teen had the intellectual ability to consider the consequences of her choices and decided she was allowed to make the decision.
Truly tragic.
To start, having a baby doesn’t limit a woman’s future – and wanting to have a “career” doesn’t mean a woman has the right to murder an innocent life.
There are countless teen moms who have their babies and go on to live a fulfilled life – and have even spoken out in gratitude they are thankful they decided to chose life.
And second, it has been proven time and time again, sexual predators depend on abortion to cover up their crimes.
Teen girls continue to be used and trafficked – and predators know places like Planned Parenthood are content to simply cover up the evidence.
A pregnant teen should be encouraged to turn to her parents for support and guidance – not hide what has happened from them – or make independent decisions apart from wisdom.
Often times, a scared teen girl gets an abortion because she thinks she has no other way out – not even knowing if her parents will help her or not.
The judge could have set the precedent that the court will not approve underage abortions – but he didn’t.
And now that Florida teens know the court will likely side in their favor – more teens will likely circumvent their parents and choose to abort their babies with the backing of a judge.
