- Second-hand use
We have heard it said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Scaling down your child’s room with their help will de-clutter, and create a wealth of hand-me-downs for other children.
Toys that have run their course with the kids, or those high water pants we can’t wait to get out of the closet, are great donation items that can bring joy to a boy or girl in need.
If your child is really attached to a blanket or doll, don’t use that item to donate, it will harbor resentment for the whole process.
Let them be involved, and have a say-so in what items go, and verbalize to them how it is great that they were given all these things once, and we have so much to be grateful for.
