In typical liberal fashion, the left is out to attack another “extreme right” group – homeschoolers.
Homeschooling has been on the rise in America for many decades, but the last two years have seen a homeschooling boom, and rightfully so.
Liberals are not satisfied with parents having the ultimate say in their children’s education – and you’ll never believe what they’re accusing conservatives of this time.
In her MSNBC opinion column, author Anthea Butler claims that conservatives are “hijacking homeschooling.”
In fact, she went as far as saying:
“The conservative Christian right has been working hard to dismantle public schooling for years.”
That’s right, by parents wanting to be in charge of their child’s education at home, they are destroying public schools.
But that’s not all. Butler continues:
“It should come as no surprise that evangelicals, fundamentalists and other religious conservatives have fought against public education since the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1954 decision in Brown v. Board of Education. The prospect of integrated schools led to the creation of many “segregation academies,” private schools designed to keep African American children and undesirable immigrant groups away from white children. But there was another, more insidious way to circumvent integration: homeschooling.”
That’s right, Butler and liberals around the country are insinuating that homeschooling is just a way to promote segregation in our modern culture.
Sick!
The audacity of this statement will not go unnoticed.
But in typical liberal fashion, she flip-flopped and said that homeschooling may be beneficial for black and “diverse groups” if they can manage to avoid the “dangerous” faith-based curriculum that “dominates” homeschooling materials.
Ridiculous!
Homeschooling families know this is not the case. And many mothers spend countless hours researching curriculums to find one that suits their family’s beliefs and children’s needs – and they aren’t always faith-based.
It’s clear the left feels threatened by the strength found in a united family.
Conservative parents are just trying to protect their children from the liberal propaganda spewed in today’s public schools.
They want to preserve their children’s innocence as long as they can and give them a childhood they would not otherwise have if they attended public school.
So, what exactly is inciting these ridiculous claims?
Kirk Cameron has made a documentary, “The Homeschool Awakening,” in favor of homeschooling that hit theaters this summer.
This project was funded by CAMFAM Studios, owned by Cameron, and the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Unsurprisingly, left-leaning streaming giants Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and others have refused to add this documentary to their libraries.
It is up to vigilant conservatives to spread the word about this film and continue talking about the benefits of homeschooling.
